Alaska is known for its diversity of wildlife, flora, fauna, and pristine habitat. This state is home to Mt. McKinley, otherwise known as Denali, an Athabaskan Indian name meaning the “The High One,” and is the highest peak in North America at 20,320 ft. Alaska is home to 17 of the 20 highest mountains in North America. The region’s glaciated landscape consists of alpine tundra and taiga forest and supports a grand array of wildlife including grizzly bears, caribou, Dall sheep, moose, golden eagles, and wolves.
