AUSTRALIA SCHOOL TRIP

Australia is a country as big your imagination, from the majestic Great Barrier Reef, the red sunsets at Ayers Rock, to the white sails of the Sydney Opera House. Adventurers can explore national parks filled with such devilish critters as koalas, sugar gliders, and red kangaroos. Others explore the world heritage rainforests of Daintree or snorkel in emerald blue water along the Great Barrier Reef. Students on a school trip to Australia will learn about unique and endemic habitats that are found nowhere else in the world and learn what they can do to preserve this ecosystem.

Sydney: Opera House, Sydney Bridge, and Manly Beach

Visit Cockatoo Island, a former prison and shipyard, and learn about Australia's colonial history. Explore the lively Rocks District and cross the city's iconic bridge on foot. Discover the ghost stories of old Sydney on a nighttime tour. Explore the top of the Sydney Bridge or take in a show at the Sydney Opera House. Meet your first koalas and kangaroos at the famous Taronga Zoo, and visit the famous Manly beach where you can take surfing lessons if you want. This school trip to Australia will provide your class with a variety of adventures that make learning fun.

The Outback and Aboriginal Culture

Fly directly to Uluru (also known as Ayers Rock), a colossal sandstone monolith rising abruptly from the desert plain, and Kata Tjuta. These awe-inspiring formations are considered sacred and figure prominently in Aboriginal mythology. Visit a working cattle ranch, examine ancient rock art and medicinal plants, and listen to Dreamtime stories told by our Aboriginal guides. Ride a camel through the desert, and sleep under the brightest stars you've ever seen. Visit one of the most remote Aboriginal tribes in Australia. Try your hand at playing Australia's traditional instrument, the didgeridoo, at a workshop and warrior show. Learn about snakes, lizards, and a variety of desert inhabitants at the Alice Springs Reptile Center.

The Great Barrier Reef and The Daintree Rainforest

Guided by a marine biologists and rainforest experts, your school group will learn through hands on experiences about symbiotic relationships that are found in the forest and ocean. Explore the outer reef and snorkel along brilliant fields of coral. Spot sea turtles, giant parrotfish, and the harmless reef shark. School students will learn about the pressures being felt by this unique ecosystem and the efforts being made to protect it. Back on land, hike through the lush, tropical Daintree National Park to see cassowaries, wombats, crocodiles, and other endemic wildlife. Volunteer at a wild bat center that rescues birds, bats, and sugar gliders. Explore the amazing Mossman gorge and learn about nocturnal animals that feed in the rainforest at night. Volunteer at a children’s feeding project that aids local homeless communities in Cairns.
