Guatemala has a great mixture of people, culture, and jaw-dropping views of volcanoes. If you're into the Maya, the mountains, the markets, or a million other things, you're bound to be captivated. Even the shortest trip takes you completely different places, with new challenges and surprises. Groups will be involved in the CCCG project that promotes education and provides medical assistance to the remote areas of Guatemala. Apppleseed Expeditions Alternative Break program to Guatemala gets students involved in mentoring impoverished children, providing medical assistance for remote communities, and helping with food programs in the city of Guatemala City.
The mission of the orphanage is to provide refuge and hope to abandoned, abused, and disadvantaged children who live on the streets of Guatemala City. We try to relieve their suffering through feeding programs, tutoring and mentoring, and general construction that enlarges their facility.
Appleseed Expeditions alternative breaks to Guatemala also provide assistance to local communities by building medical clinics in some of the communities that have little access to hospitals or other treatment centers. Our groups help with construction, painting, laying cement, and other aid so that medical staff can help families in need of emergency medical care.
On a daily basis group volunteers will help feed the children living on the streets of Guatemala. They will prepare meals, provide assistance with donated clothes, help with homework, and help with shelter construction.
