SPANISH LANGUAGE IMMERSION

Location: Spain
Madrid and Toledo

Make Madrid your classroom as you are immersed in the Spanish language.

Sample Itinerary - 8 Days

Day 1

Your group will depart for Spain!

Day 2

You will meet your bilingual Appleseed tour guide at the airport in Madrid, and then transfer to the hotel for a brief orientation. Throughout the day you will enjoy a guided walking tour of Madrid that includes such unique sites as Puerta del Sol and La Plaza Mayor, and you will even have some free time to shop!

Day 3

Following breakfast, you will meet with your guide to go over basic Spanish conversation in preparation for today's adventure. Each morning of your trip you will have a mini-lesson designed to aid you in activities scheduled for that day, all of which will require you to use your Spanish skills. Today's activities will include a visit to El Prado, the famous museum housing works by master painters such as El Greco, Valezquez and Goya. Your group will also spend some time at the Reina Sofia Museum, home of Picasso's Guernica!

Day 4

Your morning will begin with breakfast and your daily Spanish lesson, and then you will set out for the day’s activities. Today you will visit El Palacio Real, La Plaza de Espana and Gran Via.

Day 5

Your group will use what they have learned as they interact at El Buen Retiro Park, once a Royal Park. You will also head to the Shopping District of El Serrano, and then extend your skills by picking up tapas and churros around La Plaza Mayor.

Day 6

Today’s lesson will focus either on sports terms, as the group visits La Plaza de Toros and Bernabeu Soccer Stadium, or a further exploration of Royal Spain with a trip to El Escorial, a Royal Monastery. You will enjoy another authentic dinner in the evening.

Day 7

Your group will travel today to Toledo, the city of three cultures: Christian, Moorish and Jewish. You will learn the history of this amazing city that was once the capital of Spain, and see the influences of the three cultures through the architecture that remains from before the Inquisition. This beautiful place was named a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1986 because of its rich cultural and monumental heritage, and you will find it extraordinary as you spend time among the sites.

Day 8

After an unforgettable learning experience, your group will return home from Spain!
