On this student trip to the Rockies, students will learn about geology, wildlife biology and endemic habitats while serving at a conservation program. The Appleseed Rocky Mountain adventure empowers students to discover their strengths while learning skills and ideas that will shape their future. This course is specifically designed for young adults searching for a direction in life, and offers a purposeful approach to using the time and activities in the wilderness to build leadership, character and a passion to serve others.    This adventure incorporates rock climbing, whitewater rafting, hiking, caving as a way to build upon these leadership skills.

Trip Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrive in Glenwood Springs, CO

After flying into Denver, your school group will transfer to the base of Glenwood Canyon in Colorado. You will have a formal introduction and have dinner in the historic western town of Glenwood Springs.

Day 2 – Rafting Down the White River

Today your students will raft the White River, exploring the river banks and wildlife along the way. Take an optional hot springs slide or go fishing for trout near the lake.

 Day 3 – Glenwood Springs Adventure Park

This morning your student group will explore stunning caverns and formations in Colorado’s largest showcase. Fly down the mountain on Colorado’s first alpine coaster. Hang onto your seats for the 4D Ride Theater. Fly through the air high above Glenwood Springs, out over scenic Glenwood Canyon in the Giant Swing.

Day 4 – Hiking and Volunteering

Following breakfast your student group will travel to Glenwood Canyon. The steep pine and aspen covered mountains provide great trails and an opportunity to experience the Rocky Mountains. In the afternoon, you will volunteer at the Colorado Animal Rescue.

 Day 5 – Return to Denver

After breakfast, your group can do a little shopping and begin the journey home.

Qualified trip leader – Accompanying each expedition is a diverse team of experts from naturalists to regional specialists who will share their knowledge and insights on the wildlife, landscapes and local culture. Your guide is with the group 24/7 and also staying with you at the same hotel
